small Masonic exhibition on display within Jedburgh Castle Jail.
Distinguished Service for Bro. Joe.
At the Installation of Lodge Peebles Kilwinnining No. 24 on Saturday 21 October 2017 a very special Brother was presented with Distinguished Service.
Immediate Past Master, Bro. Joe Kirkpatrick PM who is also a Past Worshipful Substitute Provincial Grand Master of the Province was presented with the Honour by Past Provincial Grand Master Bro. James Brown.
Bro. Joe, a well-respected member of the Province, received his diploma and emotionally thanked the Brethren of the Lodge for his special award.
Joe was Master of the Lodge in 1981 – 1984 and again in 2015 – 2017 during the Lodges Tercentenary Celebrations and was Substitute Provincial Grand Master during Bro. James Brown’s Commission in 1995-2000.
Congratulations Joe! – well deserved.

Annual Charity Quiz Night
Lodge Kelso & Tweed recently held their Annual Charity Quiz Night and are pleased to announce that a grand total of £900 was raised for the Motor Neurone Disease Charity. Half of the money raised will go to research and the other half to support an individual family. Thanks to all those who generously gave their time and money to make the event such a great success.

Changes to PGL Office-bearers
Further to the sad loss of the Depute Provincial Grand Master, Bro. Michael Peutrill, The Right Worhsipful Provincial Grand Master has had to make some changes to his Commission. Bro. Andrew Forsyth, Past Master of Lodge Kelso and Tweed No. 58 and formally Substitute Provincial Grand Master will resume the office of Depute Provincial Grand Master and Bro. James Thom, Reigning Master of the Lodge of Melrose St. John No. 1bis will now be Substitute Provincial Grand Master. Both have been appointed with Immediate effect and are both looking forward to their new challenges. Futher to this Bro. George G. Alexander, Past Master of Lodge St. John Selkirk No. 32 has been nominated for the Office of Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies.

BYSS Support for Alistair
Bro. Kevin Stewart (Right), the Right Worshipful Master of Lodge St. John Stow No. 216 presents a cheque on behalf of the Borders Youth Support Sceme to Alistair Robinson to help fund a trip to Tanzinia.
Alistair is heading to Tanzinia where he will be helping to build a School as well as other life improving projects
BYSS Support for Jed Athletes
Bro. Kevin Stewart, RWM of Lodge St. John Stow No. 216 Left), presents a cheque for £200 on behalf of the Borders Youth Support Scheme to Brian Woods of the Jedforest Athletics Club in Jedburgh. The grant will be used to purchase equipment to aid the training of the young athletes in the town.
250 Years of Freemasonry in Jedburgh
The 250th Anniversary of Lodge St. John Jedburgh No. 104 was celebrated on 20 May 2017 in Jedburgh Town Hall when a deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland, Headed by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason, conducted a ceremony of re-dedication.
On this occasion the Province presented a Cheque for £1, 000 to the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason for Prostate Scotland.
Bro. James West of Stow, Past Master of Lodge St. John Stow No. 216, presents a cheque on behlf of the Borders Youth Support Scheme to Erika Doherty who is raising funds to enable her to go to Tanzania to help build sustainable housing.
